This year’s SHARE THE HARVEST:  HELPING NEIGHBORS IN NEED will raise funds to support the LICC’s Emergency Food and Family Support programs and our advocacy for the alleviation of the causes of hunger and poverty on Long Island.  Our guests’ needs are the basis for our advocacy programs.  We feed more than 22,000 hungry Long Islanders over 192,000 meals a year and help another 10,000 with additional Family Support. Although food is typically the presenting need, as we do the guest intake we invariably surface other needs including housing, transportation, utilities, fuel, prescriptions, eyeglasses, information and referral services, and more.  In many cases, the emergency food and family support we provide is sufficient for our guests to get through the hard times and “get back on their feet.”

SHARE THE HARVEST: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Crest Hollow Country Club located at 8325 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury, New York 11797. This year we will be honoring Stanfort J. Perry, Executive Director of AHRC Nassau.
